英文简介:
This is a light version of the Cinesamples CineBrass CORE library. The library contains a combination of solo and ensemble brass instruments, recorded in the legendary MGM Scoring Stage. The instruments sound regal and majestic, and the dynamics and tone go from a warm, mellow tone to an epic loud tone. This library provides an instant cinematic brass sound with a variety of essential articulations. The sound is especially good for a classic cinematic Hollywood sound, although with some tweaking it can fit modern and hybrid scoring needs quite well too. The patches are very playable and it's easy to get ideas recorded in no time. Overall, a good all-round brass library which helps in getting great results very quickly.
Following changes were made to the library:
1. The "Close", "Room", and "Surround" mic position sample groups were removed. This is one of the very few libraries where the default mix sounds awesome and rarely needs any tweaking. In about 90% of use cases, I found myself using this mix only and rarely ever used the other mic positions.
2. The samples in the original release were in 24-bit 48kHz format. The samples were converted to 16-bit 48kHz and repacked into NKX containers. A null test results in a peak of -85dB, which won't be audible at all. Also, after quite some testing, no issues were found with noise floor build-up when playing lots of notes. The conversion process takes the size down to 1.20GB from the original 10.9GB, which is an 89% reduction!
NOTE: Kontakt v5.8.0 or higher is required. This library does not work with legit full version of Kontakt and k'd Kontakt is necessary to use this library.
Cinesamples is proud to present a newly updated version of one of our most popular libraries, CineBrass Core. We recorded CineBrass with Local 47 union musicians right here in LA at the Sony Scoring Stage, with master engineer Dennis Sands. After CineBrass originally released, we got a lot of feedback from the composing community on how it could be better, and decided to implement many of those ideas in this version 1.7.
CineBrass is revolutionary in its power and simplicity for recreating the sound of the orchestral brass section. The library was designed by composers, for composers, with direct feedback from the film music community during it?s development. The result is a brass library that is easy to use, composer-friendly, and sounds great.
Instrumentation
Recording union players in Los Angeles allowed us to select from a pool of active Hollywood studio musicians, some of whom are members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. These stellar players can be heard on countless film and TV projects including Monsters, Inc., Wall-E, Spider-Man 2, Family Guy, and The Simpsons.
Dennis Sands
Dennis is one of the most sought after mixers in Hollywood. His credit list is a sight to behold (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, The Avengers),
and includes some of our favorite scores. He continues to produce incredible-sounding mixes year after year, and we were enormously honored to have him on this project.
His ears, equipment, and general expertise are crucial ingredients to giving this library its trademark Hollywood sound.
The Sony Pictures Scoring Stage
The Sony Pictures Scoring Stage is the largest motion picture scoring venue in the world. The main scoring area has remained unchanged since the 1930s to preserve its unmatched acoustics and unique ambiance. It measures 93’ wide by 67’ long by 34’ high. One of the first scores recorded there was the Wizard of Oz (Herbert Stothart), the success of which allowed the stage to become primarily dedicated to the art of the film score. John Williams has used the stage on many occasions for scores such at ET, Schindler’s List, Minority Report, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Some other recent scores recorded there have been Toy Story 3 (Randy Newman), Spider-Man (Danny Elfman), Alice in Wonderland (Danny Elfman), Black Hawn Down (Hans Zimmer), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Steve
Jablonsky), Wall-E (Thomas Newman), The Amazing SpiderMan (James Horner) and Star Trek (Michael Giacchino).
A change of instruments!
One of my go-to libraries for brass. Instant cinematic sound!
